For anyone reading my blogs they will have picked up one consistent theme throughout and that is the amazing generosity of the American people.
I am not going to deny that I came to America with a perception that Americans might be a little loud and slightly “in your face”. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Every day someone has gone out of their way to make my expedition that little bit easier. I have been offered beds for the night, been bought meals, given contributions and most importantly been motivated to continue.
The kindness I have received highlights just how amazing people can be/are. Kindness is not dictated by where you live, how much money you make or if you are religious. It is just something that we want to do and in many occasions people are being kind to me because someone else was kind to them. It is a chain reaction and one that if we continue will only grow and help more people.
The effects of kindness cannot be measured in monetary terms. Depending on the situation a simple word of encouragement or smile can have the same effect as being given $100. We are social creatures who need interaction and like it or not are dependent on each other.
I would love to mention each and every person that has helped but the list would be too long and I am worried I would miss someone out but if you are reading this then you know who you are. I am so grateful for what you have done for me and when things get difficult I think back to all those who people who have helped me and that motivates me to continue.
